We 'signed' Harry Kane for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag's striker issue was solved

Harry Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer, and Manchester United are keen on a move for the striker.

Having been one of the world's best strikers for a few years now, Kane has gone another year at Spurs with no silverware, and the England captain is being urged to depart north London in search of a trophy. Manchester City expressed interest in Kane in 2021, but with a year left on his contract, United could potentially make a move for the 30-year-old.

Kane is a primary target for Erik ten Hag in the summer, with the Dutch manager keen on bolstering his attacking options. Already at 20 Premier League goals this season, the Spurs striker recently became England's all-time leading goalscorer, overtaking Wayne Rooney's tally of 53.

To set up this simulation, we used the Football Manager 2023 editor to arrange for Kane to join United on July 1, 2023, using FM23 to run the simulation. We then simulated the entire 2023/24 season to see how the England international could perform.

After another impressive campaign at Spurs, Kane continued his fantastic goalscoring form with United as he played more games under Ten Hag than any other player. Across all competitions, the 30-year-old played 48 times, scoring 21 goals and registering eight assists in that time.
