Man City's next six Premier League fixtures compared with Arsenal as title battle continues

Manchester City will be aiming to close the gap on league-leaders Arsenal when they host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues currently sit eight points behind the Gunners in the league table, with Mikel Arteta's men having secured a comfortable 4-1 win over Crystal Palace in their last Premier League clash.

Pep Guardiola's side also came up against Crystal Palace in their last league match prior to the international break. The away side won 1-0 as Erling Haaland converted from the spot in the 78th minute.

With the international break now over, MEN Sport has taken a close look at City's next six league fixtures and compared them with Arsenal's.

Verdict: The Blues were on fire prior to the international break, winning each of their last six games, scoring 23 goals and conceding just once. Given Guardiola's men currently sit eight points behind the Gunners in the Premier League table - albeit with a game in hand - it was important they stayed in touch with their rivals prior to the break.

While clashes with Liverpool have been key in deciding the title race in recent seasons, Jurgen Klopp's side have endured a difficult campaign and face a battle to finish fourth. It will, without a doubt, be a difficult clash, but the Blues will be confident.

Other than the crucial meeting with Arsenal on April 26, City's four remaining fixtures within their next six matches should not present too many difficulties. They will not take anything for granted, but the reigning champions will be targeting 12 points.
