Watch irate Celtic fan confront under-fire board as stewards remove him amid rising unrest

An apoplectic Celtic supporter made a beeline for the board to confront them as the Premiership champions suffered a lifeless 2-0 defeat to Hearts.

Rising tensions were palpable as Brendan Rodgers' side were outclassed and outfought by the Jambos with chants of 'sack the board' being aired across the stadium. But one angry supporter escalated his concerns as he leaned across and shouted straight at the Parkhead top brass which included chief executive Michael Nicholson.

Security officials were on hand to try and calm down before taking hold and ushering the supporter away from the higher-ups housed in the main stand. The consecutive league defeats tee up Rangers to leapfrog the champions in 11 of the past 12 seasons with two games in hand.

And it comes with the Celtic ultras on the outside looking in with the Green Brigade currently banned with the club and their noisiest regulars at loggerheads over support of Palestine, safety issues and a host of long-running disputes between fan and board.

The heat has now been turned up on both Rodgers' players and the decision makers at the club on how to move forward with Philippe Clement's side watching on as their biggest rivals come to them in the hunt to be named Scottish Premiership champions.
