Villarreal 'target' Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri and more transfer rumours
La Liga side Villarreal are reportedly targeting a move for Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri.
Pellistri has found chances hard to come by at Old Trafford with his stint in Manchester beginning with two loan spells at Alaves. Since Erik ten Hag's arrival, the 21-year-old has remained in England and has been given some opportunities to impress.
Yet, despite the lack of options on the wings, Pellistri has only made 16 appearances for the Reds in total and is having to remain patient. The Uruguayan's lack of opportunities at United has not stopped him from being called up for his national team's senior squad and he is also being linked with moves to other top clubs in Europe.

According to Gol Digital, Pellistri has been earmarked as a replacement for Yeremy Pino. Villarreal are reportedly looking to make a move for the 21-year-old in January and will be hoping he is willing to follow in the footsteps of his iconic countryman Diego Forlan, who chose to leave United for Villarreal.
Elsewhere, United are reportedly dropping behind in their pursuit of Royal Antwerp's Arthur Vermeeren. The young Belgian midfielder has caught the eye of Europe's top clubs with Barcelona believed to have conducted talks with Vermeeren when Royal Antwerp faced Barca in the Champions League earlier this season.
United are also thought to be monitoring the youngster but, according to SPORT, Arsenal are now the team leading the way in the race to buy the 18-year-old. The Gunners are claimed to be willing to step up their pursuit in January.
