Varane, Garnacho, Amad - Manchester United injury news and return dates ahead of Lens and Athletic Bilbao

Manchester United are preparing for their final pre-season tests before the serious stuff begins on Monday, August 14.

Like last year, Erik ten Hag has organised two matches on back-to-back days to prepare for the start of the Premier League. On Saturday, the Reds will face Ligue 1 side Lens at Old Trafford. This will be followed on Sunday with a short trip over to Dublin to face La Liga opponents Athletic Bilbao.

Ten Hag chose to split his squad in preparation for the 2022/23 campaign to get as many minutes into the players as possible. However, with a number of injuries following the US summer tour, United's squad could be immediately stretched to its capacity allowing some of the younger members of the team a chance to impress.
