Manchester United transfer news RECAP Hojlund and Amrabat latest plus Saudi Arabia Osimhen bid
Manchester United ended their pre-season tour of the United States with a 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the early hours of Monday morning.
Despite taking the lead through Diogo Dalot with just 24 minutes on the clock, the Reds went into the half-time interval 2-1 down, after two goals in the space of a minute from Donyell Malen flipped the game on its head. United had been the better side for the opening 43 minutes and were stunned by the Dutchman's quick-fire double.
United got themselves back on level terms just seven minutes into the start of the second half thanks to substitute Antony's first goal of pre-season. Dortmund, however, made the most of some slack Reds defending to score their third goal of the contest on 71 minutes to seal the victory.
United now have just two remaining pre-season games, which are both being played this forthcoming weekend, before their Premier League season kicks off against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 14.
In the transfer market, United are closing in on the signing of Atalanta centre forward Rasmus Hojlund after agreeing a fee with his club over the weekend. Attention could then turn to further reinforcements in midfield, with Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat being linked.
