UFC London: Muhammad Mokaev takes a pop at Paddy Pimblett in his post-fight press conference

Muhammad Mokaev doesn’t think Paddy Pimblett is a good role model for the young generation.

The Liverpool MMA fighter, nicknamed Paddy the Baddy, survived some early adversity against Jordan Leavitt before a rear-naked choke earned him the submission win.

Mokaev, meanwhile, picked up his second win over Charles Johnson as he kept his unbeaten record intact.

Having exchanged words on social media in the past, it’s fair to say the pair don’t exactly see eye to eye.

And Mokaev believes Pimblett has a bad influence on young people – unlike his close friend and training partner Tom Aspinall.

“Tom is a great role model for the young generation,” Mokaev said at his post-fight press conference.

“This guy is not like a party animal. There’s so many guys that don’t get a lot of media attention they should get. For example, Arnold Allen, Leon Edwards, Tom Aspinall, Nathaniel Wood.

“These guys are a good example. I don’t disrespect the media guys but you give this bulls**t guy like Paddy Pimblett attention. This guy will never reach top 15 like realistically if you understand MMA you know he will never reach it.

“I don’t think he’s a great role model for young guys. Please follow Tom Aspinall, Arnold Allen, Leon Edwards, real men who are also men inside the cage.

“I’m proud to be on the same card as someone like Tom Aspinall.”

Pimblett caused a bit of a stir after baring his right buttock at the weigh-ins earlier this week.

Mokaev, however, wasn’t too impressed with his pre-fight antics.
