UFC 281: Alex Pereira weighs 232lbs ahead of Israel Adesanya trilogy fight

Alex Pereira is walking around like a heavyweight ahead of his long awaited trilogy fight with Israel Adesanya as he boasted of weighing 232lbs.

That is incredibly almost two-and-a-half stone heavier than the 185lbs he weighed in before facing Sean Strickland in July.

Pereira is currently back in Brazil at the moment as he is spending some time with his family following his stunning first-round knockout of Strickland last month.

And it appears he has been enjoying himself, as he posted on his Instagram account with a story of him weighing himself on Wednesday.

The former two-weight world champion, 35, who holds two wins over Adesanya in the world of kickboxing, told his followers he is currently walking around at 105.6 pounds.

For context, that’s almost as much as UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Pereira, 35, is scheduled to face Adesanya, 32, for the middleweight title in the main event of UFC 281 at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden on November 12.

‘Poatan’, whose nickname literally translates to ‘Stone Hand’, has made a living fighting to provide for his family after a tough childhood.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour, he said: “I had a bit rough and difficult life.

“I started working in a tire shop when I was 12, so my childhood was cut off early because I had to work, so I didn’t watch many cartoons, movies and series.

“Sometimes you’ll ask me something and I won’t know how to answer and I’ll just say I didn’t watch it. Some people will say I’m an arrogant person, but my childhood was different. Most of my childhood was busy with work and trying to help provide to my family.
