FIFA 23 Ultimate Team: How does the new chemistry system work?

The FIFA 23 Ultimate Team deep dive trailer has just been revealed and with it, we now have details on the complete chemistry revamp for the new instalment of the game. Chemistry has been adapted over the years in Ultimate Team. It initially started off very simply back in the first few titles, with players from the same league or nation linking in order to obtain full chemistry.
More recently – new ways of obtaining chemistry have been added such as position modifiers, icons, perfect links and much more you can use to obtain a squad of fully connected players.

FUT 23 brings a complete overhaul to the Chemistry system, making it easier than ever to build your dream squad. In changing the Chemistry system in Ultimate Team, EA wanted to achieve some key goals:
They’ve also completely removed the negative impact to Attributes caused by low Chemistry, so players will always play with at least their Item’s Attributes, with Chemistry being Additive.
With the removal of overall Squad Chemistry, the focus is now on increasing the Chemistry of each individual Player in your Starting XI. Each Player will be able to gain up to three Chemistry Points, allowing for an individual Player Chemistry score of 0-3.
