UFC 275: Glover Teixeira's opinion on Jiri Prochazka's impressive win streak

UFC champion Glover Teixeira isn’t overly concerned about Jiri Prochazka’s 12-fight win streak heading into UFC 275.

Over the course of the last few years, Jiri Prochazka has been viewed as the crazy boogeyman of the light heavyweight division. His unique style and fascinating personality quickly turned him into a fan favourite, with his knockout wins over Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes helping to cement that status even further.

‘BJP’ made a name for himself over in Japan with Rizin in the lead-up to getting the call from the UFC, stringing together a 10-fight win streak with nine of those victories coming via knockout.

Alas, despite the impressive nature of that run, the current 205-pound king Glover Teixeira isn’t putting a whole lot of stock into it.

“It’s different. It’s very hard to do in the UFC. When I fought Jon Jones I was coming off a [long winning streak] — something like that too. With many knockouts.

“It’s not in UFC. It’s hard to do in UFC. That doesn’t mean much. I know he’s a great fighter, he’s a tough fighter, but it’d be hard to do a [similar] winning streak in here.”

Teixeira vs Prochazka for the UFC light heavyweight championship will serve as the main event when UFC 275 emanates from Singapore on Saturday night.
