UFC 275: Jiri Prochazka teases next fight after blowing kiss to rival

UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka already seems to have his next opponent lined up after UFC 275.

Last Saturday night in Singapore, Jiri Prochazka managed to defeat Glover Teixeira and claim the UFC’s 205-pound belt in what was easily one of the greatest title fights in the division’s history. These two warriors went back and forth over five gruelling rounds and 24 insane minutes as the momentum swung between the pair on several occasions.

There’s something to be said for how they were both able to dig deep and put on an instant classic, with many fans believing they’re currently leading the charge in the Fight of the Year discussion.

Prochazka always seemed to believe he would leave as champion even when things were looking bleak, but such is the nature of this sport, it wasn’t long before the discussion began regarding his next challenger.

After leaving the cage at UFC 275 he ran into top contender and former champ Jan Blachowicz. The two appeared to exchange words with Jiri even blowing him a kiss, and during his post-fight interview, the Czech star explained what that was all about.

“It was a little bit friendly and a little bit aggressive after I said [to] him ‘Yes, OK, let’s go, you’re the next,’” Prochazka said. “He started to be aggressive because he saw the camera and all these things. He tried to flex a little bit more. Yeah, I said him [makes kissing motion] ‘I love you.’”

“Because first he was smiling to me everything, and it was good. And after the fight it was ‘I want to fight! I want to fight!’ So I said I love you. I love you, Jan. Let’s talk in the cage like that.”
