UEFA Europa League draw RECAP Manchester United and Arsenal discover their group stage fixtures
Manchester United have discovered that they will compete in Group E when the UEFA Europa League campaign gets under way next month.
United, who were one of eight big-name clubs in Pot One, have been joined in Group E by Real Sociedad, Sheriff Tiraspol and Omonia Nicosia. It is a favourable draw for Erik ten Hag's men and they will be expected to progress to the knockout stages with minimal fuss.
The Reds reached the final of the competition at the end of the 2020/21 campaign but lost to Villarreal on penalties. They will be hoping to go one better this season and repeat their Europa League success story of the 2016/17 season.
They were joined in the hat this lunchtime by Premier League rivals Arsenal. They were the first club drawn, meaning they will compete in Group A alongside PSV Eindhoven, Bodo/Glimt & FC Zurich.
