Two goals in four games and struggling in the Championship - how Man City's loanees are faring

Manchester City are no strangers to the loan system.

The clubs always have a plethora of players out on loan, with some hoping to prove they have a future at the Etihad Stadium and others using it as an opportunity to showcase their talents and put themselves in the shop window.

A whole host of City players are currently out loan and so here at MEN Sport we've taken a look at how some of them are getting on.

João Cancelo

There was a point when João Cancelo was an undroppable figure in Guardiola's team. However, after a fallout with the boss he was loaned out to Bayern Munich in January.

The Portuguese failed to patch things up with Guardiola upon his return this summer and was shipped off to Barcelona for the season. He is already a fixture in the team and has been back to his productive best with three goal involvements to his name (two goals and one assist in four league games).

He may not have a future at City but if he continues performing at the level he has shown so far he won't find it hard lining up suitors come next summer.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis

Taylor Harwood-Bellis impressed last season with his promotion from the Championship with Burnley. Despite interest from Vincent Kompany’s side and other Premier League admirers, he chose a temporary move to Southampton this summer.

The centre-back extended his deal with City before securing the loan move but the temporary deal has an option-to-buy clause included.
