Manchester United fans love Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho moment vs Crystal Palace

Plenty of Manchester United supporters praised the work ethic and determination of Hannibal Mejbri and Alejandro Garnacho following Tuesday night's 3-0 Carabao Cup third-round win over Crystal Palace.

United made the perfect start to the defence of the cup they won in February, making light work of the London club, who failed to lay so much as a glove on Erik ten Hag's side. Goals either side of half-time from Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial sealed a routine win for the Old Trafford outfit.

Ten Hag's decision to make seven changes to the side that beat Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor on Saturday evening was fully justified, with United producing their best showing of the season so far. They dominated the contest from start to finish and were always in control.

Summer signings Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat, who started at left-back, were among the star performers for United, but it was the dedication and commitment of Hannibal and Garnacho that left some Reds supporters raving on social media. A clip from the first half of the contest was shared on reddit, showing Hannibal and Garnacho running back into defensive positions at considerable pace after United lost possession of the ball.

Losing the ball fairly close to the Palace penalty area, United were quickly having to be mindful of a rare counter-attack from the visitors. But instead of Hannibal and Garnacho allowing the Palace attack to unfold unchallenged, the pair of them, almost telepathically, put everything into each forming a recovery run to try and halt the attack in its tracks.
