Leroy Sane to Liverpool transfer talk provides further evidence of Man City's greatest strength

The prospect of Leroy Sane joining Liverpool might just further emphasise where Manchester City are the best in the business.

The Blues are the best on the pitch and off it they have also made significant strides bolstered by their financial power. Their facilities are state-of-the-art and their recruitment top-notch.

Their signing success rate is superb and their ability to sell, reinvest and adapt is also a key marker under Pep Guardiola. It brings us to Sane, a player they allowed to leave in 2020 for a deal in excess of £50million. The German international joined Bayern Munich and has been a key player for the German giants.

Indeed such has been City’s strength in the market that they didn’t necessarily need a replacement. They already had Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden and others capable of performing in Sane’s place.

It’s where City have been a standout in recent years, they sell seemingly key players and replace with a seamless adeptness. When you can lose modern greats in the mould of Vincent Kompany, Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero and carry on regardless it speaks volumes at the recruitment process. New signings slot in and in many cases in-house
