Two clubs ‘withdraw’ Jadon Sancho transfer interest and more Manchester United rumours

Borussia Dortmund and another Bundesliga club have ruled themselves out of the race for Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

The winger is expected to leave Manchester United on loan in January as his exile from first-team activities continues. Erik ten Hag has refused to rule out a return for the 23-year-old, who is yet to apologise to his manager for accusing him of lying about the reasons behind his squad omission versus Arsenal.

A loan exit is expected to buy time for a decision over the England international’s long-term future with Sir Jim Ratcliffe - set to take over sporting matters - yet to have his 25 per cent investment bid ratified.

There has been little movement in the way of a resolution but there is the possibility that the picture changes depending on the stability of Ten Hag’s position amid United’s poor season. However, when it comes to January, a handful of clubs have apparently withdrawn their interest.

The Sun says RB Leipzig have joined Dortmund in ending their chase of Sancho over his lofty wage demands. It is an issue that could pose a problem for the player in the summer too, unless he agrees to take a pay cut.

The Mail adds United are eager not to let Sancho leave for a Premier League rival if it can be helped. Sancho’s contract runs until 2026, meaning he will have two years left on his contract by next summer.

Meanwhile, Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Football365), claims Arsenal have edged ahead of United in the race for Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio. His club are prepared for his exit in the next two windows amid heightened interest in the 22-year-old’s good form.
