Second Bundesliga club ‘interested’ in Jadon Sancho and more Manchester United transfer rumours

RB Leipzig have reportedly joined Borussia Dortmund in the list of clubs linked with interest in Jadon Sancho.

Juventus have also been frequently connected. All three clubs would likely only be considering the big wages the exiled winger is on at Manchester United. A loan would also buy time for Sir Jim Ratcliffe to mull over the player’s long-term future ahead of a potential summer sale.

Sancho’s contract does not expire until 2026 and so the 23-year-old could still fetch a healthy fee at the end of the campaign, albeit United are unlikely to get near the £73m paid to Dortmund for him in 2021.

Another issue is absence of game time over the last four months. Sancho has not played since August having accused Erik ten Hag of lying about why he was dropped against Arsenal at the beginning of September.

Ten Hag has indicated that Sancho could be reintroduced back into the squad if he does say sorry. But with an apology not forthcoming, the England international remains banished from first-team activities with a January exit likely.

In his now-deleted social media statement, Sancho claimed he had been “scapegoated for a long time". Ten Hag stands by his comments over the player’s inadequate training levels.

Dortmund and Juventus have long been linked with a return loan offer for Sancho but the Telegraph adds that RB Leipzig are now tracking Sancho’s situation. The attacker is thought not to be too keen on a move to Saudi, having rejected an approach last year.
