TS Galaxy's Bernard Parker hopeful for 'warm reception' from Kaizer Chiefs fans

TS Galaxy striker Bernard Parker hopes to receive a warm reception from his former supporters as he returns to his old stomping ground when TS Galaxy take on Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.  

Parker, who played for Amakhosi for 11-years, left the club after not being offered a contract renewal. Despite the underwhelming exit, the 36-year-old is hopeful that he will be well received upon his return to the FNB Stadium.  

"I hope I receive a warm reception and a welcome back," Parker told reporters. 

"I hope to get that because of what I've done there; I've done a lot in the past 11 years and I am anticipating a welcoming feeling.    

Despite Parker hoping for a warm reception, he admits that he has not yet found his own feelings to describe his return to the FNB Stadium.   

"The feeling hasn't sunk in yet. 

"I'm sure it will sink in once I put foot [on] the FNB Stadium. It's a feeling that I'm feeling for the first time and I don't know how to describe this feeling. 

"I don't know how I will be on the day, but I'm looking forward to it and I hope on the day it will be a warm feeling."    

Since his arrival at Galaxy, Parker has scored zero goals in four games. However, despite the underwhelming start, the veteran striker is not worried. 

"So far, it's been great. With how much I feel valued in terms of my contribution to the team, it's only the beginning and I'm here to work hard, strive, fight, improve and to make sure the team is the best they can be. 

"I feel part of it and it's a good feeling and I would like to keep this good feeling."
