Tottenham now eyeing 'exciting' 15-assist ace for Conte; he's already starring in 3-5-2 system

Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Middlesbrough ace Isaiah Jones, TEAMtalk report.

Jones is 22 years of age and is primarily a right-winger who can also operate from the left. The Englishman has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at the Riverside during the current campaign, making 32 senior appearances.

Jones, under contract until 2025, has scored once and provided nine assists, taking his senior career tally to two goals and 15 assists respectively.

He has been used regularly as a right-midfielder after Chris Wilder took over in November, and it seems as if Jones is now catching the eye of multiple top-flight sides.

TEAMtalk shared a story on Saturday morning, looking at Jones’ situation.

They revealed that Spurs are ‘now keeping a close eye’ on the wide man, with Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Leeds, West Ham and Wolves also credited with an interest. Five teams abroad are also admirers of the player, who has been ‘excelling’ in Wilder’s 3-5-2 formation.

Spurs chiefs appear to be looking at young talent in the lower leagues, with another Middlesbrough player, Djed Spence, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, heavily linked with a move to north London.

Both Jones and Spence play on the right, so it could be a case of one or the other in the summer as Tottenham look to bolster their right wing-back ranks.

Jones, who Wilder labelled as ‘exciting’, has been Boro’s third-best performer in the Championship this season, registering five more assists than any of his teammates, as per WhoScored.

He appears to be a player developing at a rapid pace considering this is his first full season in the second-tier, so Spurs could be onto something if they win the race for Jones’ services.
