What is the latest with Isaiah Jones’ situation as West Ham, Tottenham + more eye moves?

Youngster Isaiah Jones joined Middlesbrough in 2019 and after loan seasons at St Johnstone and Queen of the South, has become a regular starter for his parent club this season.

The 22-year-old has had an impressive season with Middlesbrough this season making 37 appearances in all competitions playing as right wing-back.

In December he was awarded the Championship Player of the Month award after scoring his first senior goal, providing two assists in a game against Blackpool and keeping four clean sheets.

Although he’s been playing a defensive role for Chris Wilder’s team this season, the winger has plenty of attacking flair too and is able to play on either wing going forward meaning there’s plenty of room for him to develop his game.

Despite extending his contract with his current club back in November keeping him at the club until 2025, there’s been a lot of reported interest in the young player from Premier League clubs including West Ham, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and European clubs Atletico Madrid, Ajax and RB Leipzig and now Tottenham are the latest club to have gained an interest in the player.

It’s not yet known whether the 22-year-old will depart the Riverside this season and it could partly depend on how successful Middlesbrough are in their bid to get to the play-offs. As it stands, they currently sit in 8th place two points off the play-off spots.

Admittedly their recent form has been a bit mixed however, they are so close and could very easily find themselves in the play-off spots at the end of the season. Should this be the case and they find themselves in the Premier League, then they automatically have a higher chance of keeping the player who is wanted by so many.
