Tottenham 'have to be 100% convinced' to re-sign 111-cap star
Tottenham will need to be “100 per cent convinced” before they sign Christian Eriksen, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
The 111-cap Denmark international is currently playing his football with Brentford, but only signed a short-term deal with the Bees, which could see him become a free agent once more this summer.
Despite not kicking a ball for almost nine months since suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020, the midfielder maestro has quickly dusted himself down and got back into the swing of things since his January arrival.
While he missed Brentford’s defeat at Leicester before the international break, he had featured in the three games prior, and produced an excellent performance in his last outing against Burnley, including an exquisite assist for Ivan Toney.
Since then, Eriksen has also marked his return to the international stage in stunning fashion, scoring in Denmark’s games against Holland and Serbia.
Even before his return to action, Antonio Conte said that he would be open to Eriksen returning to Tottenham this summer having managed the attacker at Inter Milan in the last couple of seasons.
But Jones reckons that the North London outfit will need to be fully convinced that Eriksen can still perform on a consistent basis before re-signing him.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “Eriksen took a long time to establish himself at Inter when he was fit. He managed to do it in the end, but it’s been a while since Eriksen was able to consistently put out top performances and Tottenham will have to be 100 per cent convinced if they are to go out with a move for Eriksen.”
