Tottenham have already 'explored' the possibility of signing Gianluca Scamacca
According to journalist Dean Jones, a move for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has ‘definitely been explored’ by Tottenham Hotspur.
The north London outfit are believed to be in the market for a new forward as they look for some much-needed cover and competition for Harry Kane.
Spurs were heavily linked with a move for former Fiorentina hitman Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window before he joined Serie A giants Juventus instead.
However, new manager Antonio Conte could still return to his homeland for a different in-form striker in the summer, with Scamacca believed to be on the Italian tactician’s radar.
According to reports by Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by SportWitness), the 23-year-old has been identified as an alternative option to Vlahovic by the Spurs hierarchy.
Scamacca started to cultivate an enviable reputation for himself during a season-long loan spell at Genoa last term when he bagged 12 goals and provided two assists across 29 appearances in all competitions.
And the 6 foot 5 beast has carried that impressive form into the current campaign, racking up 10 goal contributions in just 25 outings.
Kane appeared set to complete a controversial switch to Premier League rivals Manchester City last summer before performing a dramatic U-turn and remaining at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The England international’s long-term future is still far from certain, though, and he remains the only natural striking option in Conte’s first-team squad.
But Jones has revealed that Scamacca is the sort of player who Spurs ‘would look at’ before claiming a deal for the target man has already been evaluated.
