Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou casts verdict on Manchester United comeback win
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou admitted he didn't expect Manchester United to overturn a two-goal deficit against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
The Reds looked set for another disappointing 90 minutes when John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker gave Unai Emery's side a strong advantage at the break. Erik ten Hag's men were booed off the pitch but they managed to turn a corner.
Alejandro Garnacho led the charge with a brace to bring the Reds level and with momentum on their side, United completed the comeback victory through Rasmus Hojlund. The result was yet another twist in the race for the top four but Postecoglou played down the surprising nature of the win.

Speaking in his pre-Brighton and Hove Albion press conference, Postecoglou said: "Depends on what you view as predictable or unpredictable. I’ve always said that every game is its own unique piece of living, breathing thing.
"Nobody can tell me how a game of football is going to go. I don’t know if you watched last night but if you did, you probably would have written a different story to what you wrote at full-time to half-time. That’s the beauty of football.
"As much as we as managers try to control the whole thing, the reality is that every game is a life and we just have to prepare your team to deal with whatever might happen in the 90 minutes that transpire."
Following the result, United sit five points behind Spurs having played a game more. Ten Hag's side will host Postecoglou's men on January 14.
