Topi Keskinen lands Aberdeen FC transfer seal of approval from Pittodrie insider after arrival

Shayden Morris believes Finn Topi Keskinen will add even more quality to high-flying Aberdeen.

The Dons have completed a £860,000 deal to sign the talented winger from HJK Helsinki. 21-year-old Keskinen - who has been capped for Finland at U21 level - has penned a four-year contract at Pittodrie. Fellow winger Morris said: “We hear he is a good player. If he does come in then he is a good addition to the squad. That is what we need. We need a big squad because it is a long season as we know. Any more additions would be helpful.”

The arrival of Keskinen well help soften the blow from the likely departure of Bojan Miovski. Girona are in talks and the North Macedonian looked to have said an emotional farewell after the weekend win over St Mirren. Morris admitted: “Bojan has been very good for us. He has been amazing and deserves the reception he got on Sunday.”

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin would need to find a way to replace the 26 goals that Miovski got for the team last season. His teammate conceded he would be a loss but the Dons have already shown a cutting edge without him. Ester Sokler has taken the main striking berth and returning Pape Habib Gueye and Vicente Besuijen all got in on the scoring act against St Mirren.

The Englishman claimed: “If he does go he will be a massive miss, but as you can see we have players who can score and provide goals. We even have Graeme Shinnie contributing. “It is good.”
