Tony Smith on Hull KR's massive month beginning with Toulouse Olympique trip

Tony Smith believes Hull KR are hitting form at the right time as they embark on a huge month that will have a big bearing on their season. Rovers head to France to take on Toulouse Olympique before games against Wakefield Trinity, Leeds Rhinos and the Challenge Cup semi-final with Huddersfield Giants.

Rovers could be in a fantastic position come the end of that period that Smith has warned that the hangover from Easter will make it challenging for all clubs, as well as Rovers. But, with a big opportunity beckoning, Smith has expressed his optimism leading into the next set of fixtures.

"This is a very testing period for all of us," he said. "Over I'll say the next month, because it's not just Easter, it's the three weeks after Easter that are the testers. It depends on how many injuries you pick up over Easter.

Lachlan Coote drops out of Hull KR squad with Brad Takairangi primed for return

"I said it from week one I think, we'll get better and I think we are. We're getting consistently better. There were a few games earlier on in the season where if slightly better we would have got those too - not the Saints game, that would be stretching it too far.

"But we're improving, we've a few new faces come in and Lachlan wasn't there for some of it, the way he plays and us getting used to him, Frankie (Halton), big Tom (Garratt), things change and you've got to start again. But we're progressing well, getting better each week and hopefully that will continue."
