Tom Lawrence's Rangers injury nightmare almost over as Welshman takes major step towards return
Tom Lawrence is another step closer to ending his Rangers injury hell after rejoining Michael Beale's squad.
It's 11 months since the Welshman kicked a ball for the Ibrox side after suffering a serious knee injury. The seemingly innocuous blow suffered at the end of a home win over Ross County last August was only meant to keep the former Derby skipper out short-term. But complications in his rehab work eventually saw the 29-year-old counted out of the remainder of the campaign.
However, Lawrence, who was signed by former boss Gio van Bronckhorst, is now at long last ready to hook up with new gaffer Beale. And he was back on the grass at the club's Auchenhowie training base on Monday as he met up with the club's seven summer signings following Gers return from their pre-season camp in Germany. Nico Raskin was also back among the fold having been given extra time off following his Belgian Under-21 duties at the European Championships in Georgia and Romania.
Beale is also hoping to welcome Connor Goldson and Dujon Sterling back to training soon after both defenders sat out the week-long camp in Blankenhain.
