Todd Cantwell warned his haters over their 's***' as wantaway Rangers misfit sees boldest of claims bite him

Big-talking Todd Cantwell warned the football world he was heading to the top but a boast aimed at his 'haters' has been dug up amid his ongoing pursuit to get out of Glasgow.

The wantaway Rangers star has told Philippe Clement he is seeking to leave but his about turn on life at Ibrox is a life away from claims less than 12 months ago that he was at the perfect club. And Cantwell – who has chosen to live his life on social media – is paying the price for the bombastic claim where he rounded on his perceived haters. The then Norwich star went off on one at the end of 2019 as called out those he believed were trying to tear him down.

In a strongly-worded statement on Hogmanay 2019, he said on Twitter: "No one can tell me nothing. Written off, not strong enough, not quick enough, not worthy of the number 14 shirt! Well listen up I’m on my way to the top and no-one is going to stop me! So listen to anyone striving forward and being told all this sh*t, tell them,"I got this."

The post came attached with a photo of him mixing it with Aston Villa stars with many noting it was similar to the post he uploaded after he got into it with Celtic skipper Callum McGregor after the pair clashed following the 3-3 draw in April.

But Cantwell has remained radio silent after his manager returned to his post-match press conference against Birmingham City to tell the assembled press pack that the former Canaries playmaker wanted to leave Ibrox after only 18 months.
