Todd Cantwell 'not as fancied' by Clement while another Rangers star told misses would make TEN MINUTE video

Todd Cantwell might not be 'as fancied' at Rangers under new boss Philippe Clement.

That claim from former Ibrox star and current Hearts midfielder Andy Halliday comes as the ex-Norwich City attacker was hooked after 45 minutes of a drab display at Hampden against the Jambos. Cantwell had been wound up by the Hearts defence and was booked in the first half of the Viaplay Cup semi-final for a needless foul on Alex Cochrane, before experienced Clement took the decision to retire the 25-year-old in favour of Scott Wright, who produced the goods at the national stadium.

Pundit Michael Stewart reckoned Cantwell 'wasn't happy' at being taken off by the boss, despite the Englishman posting a celebratory message on social media after the game. And Halliday insists the decision, despite being tactical, was a funny one and that he may not be as 'fancied' under the new Rangers regime.

He told Clyde SSB: "The Todd Cantwell one is pretty funny because it seems as if he's not as fancied by Philippe Clement. I know we're very, very early in saying that but to bring him off at half time for tactical reasons was quite an interesting one."

He added on Lammers, who he reckons could have a Youtube compilation lasting ten minutes of all his missed chances: "I thought he did fine. I think he has shown some lovely periods of play and some lovely touches but not affected the game enough. I think last week was his first goal in 16 appearances, you look at the plethora of chances he has had this season - you could make a YouTube compilation and it would last ten minutes.

"You then see that's why he's maybe only scored nine goals in the past four years. With the output of £3.5m that Rangers have paid you're expecting a pretty hefty goal return
