Time running out for Philippe Clement’s Rangers transfer demand as Neraysho Kasanwirjo deal can't fulfil prophecy

Philippe Clement predicted a busy week for Rangers - but as it stands the boss doesn't look like he getting everything he wanted from the deadline day finale.

After the Light Blues' rout of Ross County last Saturday, the boss confidently predicted a hectic end to the summer window - with adding new faces to the current group the clear intention rather than offloading players. At Hampden Park the Belgian declared: “I expect a busy week, more busy with incomings and a few outgoing too. But not in terms of players who were in the squad today. That’s clear. More outgoings for the players who are not involved."

After the comments, Ben Davies was shown the door as the defender made his loan move to Birmingham City – and has been followed to the English Championship side by winger Scott Wright on a permanent deal. Todd Cantwell is set to complete a move to Blackburn Rovers - while the Light Blues remain hopeful they can still offload Ianis Hagi with the playmaker relegated to the B team.

But after a flurry of players heading for the Ibrox exit, fans are still waiting for the first new Rangers recruit to be unveiled since the comments. Feyenoord defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo is set to pen a season-long loan with the Light Blues – but there is still plenty of work for Rangers to do to fulfil Clement's demands.

Sassuolo's Nemid Bajrami is also among the top targets but time of ticking on bringing the playmaker to the club, while links to Ibrahim Adel persist with a move to Getafe for the Pyramids FC star yet to get over the line. But as it stands some late movement in the market is the only thing that can keep Clement's hopes alive.
