Time Defenders Gacha: Players React to the System

Gacha title Time Defenders launched globally on Wednesday and players have been reacting in their masses to the game and the gacha mechanics.

Whilst the game has been available to audiences in Asia for some time, the worldwide release is the first time that the title has been localised for Western audiences.

Vespa had been hoping for a home run for the global release of the game, but what have gacha fans been saying since the launch about the rarity, rerolls and gameplay?

Here are some of the reactions to Time Defenders and the game’s gacha mechanic:

Writing on r/gachagaming, a player recently gave their early overview of the title and how the gacha system works.

They noted: “The SSR (highest rarity) rate is 3% which is good, but the solo rate up unit % is less than half of the SSR pool (0.4%).

“You don’t get summoning currency from daily missions, but instead a normal pool summoning ticket that doesn’t include the latest pick up unit.

“The only way to get summoning currency as F2P is a weekly mission, which takes 12 weeks for one 10x pull. I’m not too impressed with the 1x summoning ticket each day from the missions, since some games already give a free daily summon.”

Another player would comment on the new global version of the game, saying why they intended on deleting it as soon as possible.

They wrote: “Go check the awakening screen. at awakening 5 a unit gets 170% ATK and HP lmao. I uninstalled it immediately after seeing that.”

This wasn’t uncommon amongst the Redditors in the biggest Gacha Gaming Subreddit, as another would note: “Saw Vespa, wanted to play it. Looks amazing, graphics-wise. But gameplay-wise, Nah. And when I heard abt the dupe system, I just uninstalled.”
