Tierney deal fast-tracked, Norwegian winger 'followed' and Daniel Cummings leads exodus – Celtic transfer state of play
Celtic are reportedly exploring the prospect of bringing Kieran Tierney on loan from Arsenal in January as well as agreeing a pre-contract return.
Tierney has been told by the Premier League giants that they won’t be taking up the additional option in his contract - which means he will become a free agent at the end of the season. Record Sport understands Brendan Rodgers will push to try and seal an emotional Celtic return for the boyhood Hoops' fan to his former club.
The 27-year-old made his first-team return on Thursday night starting on the left wing in the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory over Crystal Palace but appears unlikely to get a serious run in the first-team under Mikel Arteta. Sky Sports now state that the Gunners will "consider" offers with the expectation that "a number of clubs across Europe are also said to be interested in Tierney" - including the Premiership leaders.
Oddsmakers make a dream comeback to Glasgow's east end top of their lists - while interest from the English top flight is also expected. Instant Casino state the defender is now priced 6/4 to return to the club where he made his breakthrough and became captain at just 19. Leicester follows in the market at 4/1, with Everton a 5/1 shot.
Another incoming could be Sondre Ørjasæter with reports suggesting that the Hoops are tracking the 21-year-old ahead of the January window. The Sarpsborg star is said to have been 'closely followed" by Celtic and RB Salzburg in recent months.
However, the Norwegian side appear to be in no rush to sell the highly-rated winger. Nettavisen report that club "have no desire to sell this winter."
Should the Scottish champions be able to convince Sarpsborg to part ways with Ørjasæter it could spell the end
