Three Leicester City players who could be harder to replace than critics think

Ahead of a potentially hectic summer transfer window, Leicester City have decisions to make on some players as a 're-shape' of Brendan Rodgers' squad is undertaken in preparation for next season amid hopes of a return to European football.

City have remained relatively quiet in the market so far, although work behind the scenes will have already started. Rodgers has previously hinted at bringing in five or six new players this summer, meaning a fair number of the current squad will have to leave the club before the season begins at the start of August.

A central defender, a centre-midfielder and a right-sided winger are all top priorities. However, to raise funds for incomings, players at the King Power Stadium will be keeping their options open for their best interests with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar scheduled for later this year.

Certain players are more likely than others to leave and some will see their contribution missed on the pitch more than others. No club has officially been linked with a move for the tall Danish defender, but his lack of game time and quality when called upon has seen him regularly named as one of the players who will be part of Rodgers' reshuffle. With Wesley Fofana and Jonny Evans fit, Vestergaard struggled to break into the City team as a 4-2-3-1 system was often used last season.
