Manchester United are primed and ready to announce their next two signings at any time.

Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt are heading to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich to help strengthen up the defensive options available to their former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag this season. Confirmation on that £51.5million double agreement could even come before United get their Premier League campaign underway.

Such is the modern way, attention has already turned to what or whom might be next. Ineos will need to sanction further sales to get more proposed signings over the line - but there are still a few bargain options waiting for their co-ownership group to consider in positions that have been pinpointed.

It comes amid lingering question marks over Ten Hag's first signing Tyrell Malacia, who will not feature until October at the earliest.
