'This is an embarrassment' - Manchester United fans react to Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong update

Manchester United are still waiting to sign Frenkie de Jong this summer. Though the Manchester Evening News understands the club have agreed a fee for the midfielder, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is evidently still confident the Dutchman will remain at Camp Nou.

Should United get a deal over the line, they will have secured a significant part of Ten Hag's rebuild. BBC Sport (citing Marca) have stated that the delay may be due to a contract dispute between De Jong and Barcelona.

However, Barca president Laporta has been spinning a different story. He told the media recently: “Frenkie de Jong is a Barcelona player, we don’t want to sell him unless we have no other choice. Of course, we know there are offers for De Jong, but we don’t want to sell him."

With the saga still not yet over, United fans have had enough. Some fans have even suggested that Ten Hag should look to other targets in the transfer market.
