'This could be my terminally ill daughter's last Christmas - we're doing a bucket list'

A young woman is making a Christmas bucket list with her mother after being diagnosed with a deadly brain cancer.

Gail Iredale, from Willington, Derbyshire, was horrified to hear her daughter, Hannah, was diagnosed with an aggressive type of cancer called glioblastoma.

The 20-year-old was diagnosed in September 2022 and was given a prognosis of 15 months with doctors worried her condition will deteriorate in the new year. Due to this, Gail has decided to make a Christmas bucket list filled with once-in-a-lifetime experiences to ensure Hannah will have a Christmas she will remember.

The 52-year-old mum of two said: "We really just want to create a wonderland Christmas - because I do question will this be her last? It all depends on what the hospital says - if the tumour is starting to grow again, she may well spend Christmas in surgery.

“But if it's stable - we’re going to have an amazing Christmas, and experience it to the fullest. We’ve decorated the entire house in bunting, we’ll have a big party on Christmas Eve - and we’re giving her a list of experiences, so we can make memories."

Hannah has currently undergone a round of chemotherapy radiotherapy in the space of 13 months with hopes that her condition will improve.

The pair have a fantastic list of activities they are planning to get up to which include going on The London Eye and getting messages from her favourite singers, Tom Grennan and Tom Odell.

1. Receive gift messages from Tom Odell and Tom Grennan

2. See any West End show

3. Go on the London Eye

4. Ride the Snowdonia zip line

5. Visit LegoLand
