"They'll be inundated with offers" - Sky Sports reporter drops claim involving 6 ft 4 Spurs ace

Tottenham will be “inundated” with offers for Joe Rodon should they put him up for sale this summer, according to Michael Bridge.

The 6 ft 4 Welshman has hardly had a look under Antonio Conte and was heavily linked with a January move away from Spurs.

It really has been another season to forget for the centre-back, who’s continuously been overlooked since he made the £11m move from Swansea just under 18 months ago.

Having hardly featured under Jose Mourinho or Nuno Espirito Santo, Rodon has made just three appearances since Conte arrived, with his only starts coming against Mura and Morecambe.

As a result, his game-time has been extremely limited, with even the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez picked ahead of him.

Therefore, Newcastle and Leeds were monitoring his situation in January, although with injuries to both Dier and Romero at the time, Tottenham were reluctant to let him leave.

Rodon has been an unused substitute for the last 12 Premier League games and wasn’t even given a chance when Dier missed almost the whole of January, despite Conte clearly stating that he’s the England defender’s back up in the centre of the back three.

With the World Cup now less than 10 months away and Rodon a regular for Wales, who’ll be hoping to qualify for Qatar via the play-offs, the 24-year-old will want to improve his game-time heading into next season.

And Bridge thinks that Tottenham won’t be short of buyers if they do decide to put Rodon on the transfer list this summer.
