"There's some talk..." - Journalist now drops interesting Dele Alli claim at Everton

Everton midfielder Dele Alli has may have some off-field “issues” to address, according to insider Dean Jones.

The 25-year-old joined the Toffees on deadline day in January in an attempt to resurrect his stuttering career, but the move has not gone to plan thus far.

Alli started his first game at the Merseyside club on the bench against Newcastle, but he came on after just 25 minutes when Demarai Gray picked up a first half injury.

He may have hoped to kick on from that outing, but he was named among the substitutes again just four days later at home to Leeds.

This has become a recurring theme for Alli, who has now made six appearances in total under Frank Lampard but has not made a single start.

In Everton’s latest league fixture at Goodison Park, he failed to make it off the bench as a late Alex Iwobi goal handed the hosts a priceless 1-0 win against Newcastle.

Alli has not started well at Everton, and Jones has hinted that problems away from the pitch could be stopping him from finding his best form.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “There’s some talk about issues in the background for Dele that need to be addressed, and maybe he needs to get his focus back to matters on the pitch and proving himself there.”

It has been reported that Everton are already considering offloading Alli in the summer transfer window, despite the attacking midfielder only joining the club two months ago. This would be a huge blow for Alli who has hardly got his Everton career off the ground.
