"You'd have to be crazy..." - Journalist now makes bold Everton claim

Everton’s form away from home has been ‘so dreadful all season’ that you’d have to ‘be crazy’ to believe they can get a positive result on the road, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Toffees are currently embroiled in a relegation battle and are sitting just one place and four points above the bottom three with eight Premier League games remaining.

A deserved 1-0 victory over Manchester United last time out eased some of the mounting pressure on Everton and their new manager Frank Lampard, ending a run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions.

However, they are still yet to pick up three points away from Goodison Park since 28th August, a run that has now stretched to 13 top-flight fixtures.

As a result, Everton have the worst record on the road in the division, with their solitary victory and three draws meaning they have collected just six points from a possible 45.

Luckily for Lampard, his side appear to have found some form when playing in front of their home supporters, though.

Saturday’s win against the Red Devils was Everton’s fifth in their previous seven encounters at Goodison across all competitions and their third straight clean sheet.

Unfortunately for Lampard and co, exactly half of Everton’s remaining league games are away from home, and the 43-year-old tactician will surely be desperate to address their current struggles as soon as possible.

Brown believes that Everton have been ‘a little bit self-destructive’ when playing outside of the blue half of Merseyside this season.
