Journalist now reveals Everton board's thoughts on Lampard at Everton

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that it is never too late in a season to change things, with Frank Lampard’s appointment at Everton not working out so far.

Lampard was introduced at Goodison Park following the sacking of Rafael Benitez, but he has failed to change the drastic form of the Toffees since his arrival. He has lost all five away games since becoming manager and has won just twice in league proceedings at home.

Everton now sit just one place above the drop zone following their 3-2 defeat against Burnley on Wednesday night at Turf Moor. Lampard’s side have a difficult run of fixtures from now until the end of the season, as they face Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool in their next four games.

With the poor form of Everton since Lampard’s arrival, O’Rourke has highlighted to GiveMeSport that it is still not too late for the board to make a change in the dugout before the end of the season in an attempt to save their Premier League status.

He said: “It’s never too late to make a change, I don’t think, in football. The Everton hierarchy are very concerned of how things have worked out since Lampard has come in.”

We have no reason to disagree with O’Rourke here, as Frank Lampard’s side have conceded nine goals in their last three games, while it is unlikely they will be able to get too many points with their upcoming fixtures if the form table is anything to go by. Clearly, Everton are in big trouble.
