Sitting with knots in our stomach before the names come out of the hat will take a bit of getting used to but it's the reality for Scotland these days.

The Tartan Army are brushing up on their Deutsch as the draw for Euro 2024 edges closer and it feels as if half the country has already booked up to take Germany by storm. They won't know what's hit them when thousands upon thousands of Scots descend from the skies for a party and regardless of who we end up in a group with, the optimism is flowing that Steve Clarke can be the man to send us into tournament knockout football for the first time ever.

The lucky few fans to land a ticket will be pinching themselves even if they don't know who they'll be watching yet. Saturday's draw will determine who is playing where, so now is the time to brush up on everything you need to know ahead of Euro 2024.

The tournament kicks off at 8pm in Munich on Friday, June 14. Berlin hosts the final on July 14.

24 teams compete in total and the top two teams from the six groups will reach the last 16, alongside the four best third-placed finishers. Pot 1 is going to land Scotland with a big hitter and, after recent games with France, Spain and England, they are likely teams to avoid. Germany as the hosts will also be in a strong position.

Pot 2 the stand-out pick for a best case scenario is Albania, with Denmark and Turkey ones to avoid. Pot 4 has Italy and everyone will praying they don’t land them.
