Scotland fans braced for Euro 2024 ticket scramble at wild prices for Germany opener

Scotland fans can apply for the nation's Euro 2024 tickets on Wednesday – but some are set to pay top dollar for the courtesy of taking in next year's opener.

A minimum of £345 is what a third of buyers will pay to see the opening game of the major tournament against hosts Germany. Another just over tenth of thee allocation will need to pay even more at an exuberant rate of £517 for the Munich opener, as 174 fans specifically prepare to stump up big cash for a seat with a 'restricted' view. Scotland Supporters Club will start to dish out their share of the allocation across their 38,000 members and they will be issued based on a loyalty points system with regards how many games fans have attended.

The group stage draw was made on Saturday night and alongside the hosts, Scotland have landed Switzerland and Hungary. Steve Clarke's side have got Germany at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena on June 14 and the ticket prices for the opening game of the group stage are far higher than the rest. The cheapest tickets for sale for the opener are UEFA's 'Fans first' section behind the goal and will be £43 and 2,898 lucky Scotland fans will get them.

And to add insult to injury to the Tartan Army, some of those tickets for all three games will have a restricted view. But then there is a huge jump to the other three categories.

Category three briefs will cost £168. of which 3,435 will be allocated. In that section, a further 76 are 'restricted view' but will still cost £133. A total of 2,541 fans will get category two tickets which will cost a hefty £345, with another 80 of them in the restricted view which are £274.
