The Steven Gerrard next job 'truth' as former Rangers boss ruled IN and OUT of two gigs amid U-turn

Former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will not be the next boss of Sheffield Wednesday – according to multiple reports in England.

But a sensational switch to Saudi Arabia is back on with an agreement to take him to Ettifaq being sought with talks ongoing between the SPL upstarts and the Liverpool icon. Gerrard poured cold water on a sojourn to the Middle East after initial discussions, however, several updates in the Gulf suggest the 43-year-old is back at the negotiating table with a side who finished a whopping 35 points behind champions Al-Ittihad last season.

Gerrard is craving his next opportunity after returning to punditry in the wake of his chastening stint as Aston Villa boss. He became persona non grata in the Midlands before he paid with his job in the wake of a pasting at the hands of Fulham last October.

But the former Ibrox manager remains determined to reignite his coaching career which came off the rails at Villa. And now Ettifaq - lacking the bonafide star names their league rivals boast – are confident a deal can be struck.
