Watch Steven Gerrard hit instant Saudi turbulence as former Rangers boss in communication breakdown

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool mantra is all about rock and roll football - and its sentiments appear to have dripped into Steven Gerrard's Ettifaq training session in an unexpected manner.

The former Rangers boss has been named manager of the Saudi Pro League side who are spending big to try and claim some of Europe's most recognisable faces. They have already got one Anfield legend in Gerrard and are hunting another in Henderson, with the current Reds skipper said to have agreed personal terms on a move to the middle-east.

And the 33-year-old has been given a glimpse of the intense work he'll be in for with his former teammate. The Instagram caption which shows a day's work for Gerrard's side at their Croatian bootcamp reads 'nothing but good vibes in our training' but that's not quite like what the video entails as a heavy metal montage of Ettifaq training ensues, showing everything from running drills to keeper shot-stopping.

The former midfielder will hope the rock and roll style translates onto the pitch, and produces results that helped win him the Premiership title with Rangers in 2021. But there appears to be one problem for Gerrard to overcome, the language barrier. He can be seen saying to one player in another clip 'do you want it, tell me then, tell me then,' before looking in the same direction and saying 'no communication' soon after.

He could be about to form a Merseyside reunion too while he is at it. Henderson is one name closing in on the middle-east but it's also been reported that Sadio Mane and Phillipe Coutinho are other former Reds who could become Saudi stars.
