The Sheffield United youngsters who will be eyeing a breakthrough season in 22/23

Sheffield United have improved significantly since Paul Heckingbottom was appointed, with the new boss finding the right balance since taking over.

As well as getting results, the former Barnsley chief has managed to give some younger players the opportunity to perform. Iliman Ndiaye has continued to have an important role in the promotion push, whilst Kyron Gordon has stepped up recently and done well.

With the Blades owner not expected to put big money in, there will be a focus on bringing youngsters through, and here we look at TWO who could become important players next season…

Femi Seriki

The support got a glimpse of the 19-year-old against Nottingham Forest earlier this season and even though it was a very tough first start for the player, he did reasonably well.

That was a sign of the quality the wing-back has and he will hope to get more minutes next season.

Obviously, that’s going to be hard with Jayden Bogle and George Baldock ahead of him in the pecking order but the latter has been linked with a switch to Olympiacos, which could present more opportunities to Seriki in the 22/23 campaign.

If he can impress in pre-season, there’s no reason why the teenager can’t provide competition for Bogle and he could be the latest talent to be a part of the squad.

Daniel Jebbison

The forward is a name that will be familiar to fans after his emergence in the Premier League season that saw the team relegated.

However, he still hasn’t fully established himself as a regular, and he’s struggling for minutes at the moment despite the injury crisis.
