Daniel Farke has backed Glen Kamara to cope with the pressure of playing at Elland Road after dealing with the "crazy" Rangers crowd.
The Finn made a late transfer switch to Leeds United after being bombed by Michael Beale and sent to train with the club's development squad. Kamara, who helped Gers to their Premiership title success in 2021 and lifted the Scottish Cup a year later, earned the Light Blues a healthy profit as they sold a £100,000 buy from Dundee into a £5million cash cow.
Farke was prepared to wait to get Kamara after being linked with him for the majority of the summer. He also acquired Bulgarian Ilia Gruev to further enhance his engine room options. Leeds will be expected to secure an immediate return to the English Premier League after their relegation last season. And Kamara's know how in dealing with the pressure to win week in, week out at Rangers should stand him in good stead, according to Farke.
"I think it was necessary to bring players in on this position and I'm pretty pleased with Ilia and also Glen because we got players was real quality, so good on the ball but also with experience," said the German.
"Yeah, Glen has played for a Scottish giant, he knows how to play in front of a crazy crowd and lots of pressure. They have the pressure to win each and every game.
"Proven international team player for Finland. With Ilia the same, proven international for Bulgaria, has played an important role for Werder Bremen on Bundesliga level, so quite important.
"They are versatile and to play in different midfield positions. They have physicality but also good on the ball but for me, was the same importance these are players who are desperate to play for Leeds United.
