The Michael Beale mixed messages with Rangers XI as former captain warns of 'near perfect' run needed to turn tide

Craig Moore has warned Michael Beale he’ll have to launch Rangers off on a near-flawless festive run if he’s to win over his Ibrox doubters.

The furious Gers fanbase let rip after Sunday’s Old Firm loss left the Light Blues trailing Celtic by four points a week into September. And a significant section of the Ibrox legions are now in danger of losing faith in their boss completely. Former skipper Moore reckons it’s not too late for Beale to turn things around - but admits there’s no room for further slip-ups between now and Christmas.

Oz said: “It’s a tough situation because once you get the swell of support against you here, then it could be very, very difficult to come back from. I was at the game. Coming out of the stadium, there were a lot of supporters really unhappy with the performance, the situation, his selection. He needs a near-perfect return to be able to turn this around.

Beale has revamped his squad with nine new signings but Moore hasn’t seen much sign of an improvement on last year’s squad, that finished empty handed as Celtic ran off with another treble. “The cohesion and the partnerships haven’t been able to be built yet in the Rangers team with those attacking options of Dessers, Danilo, Lammers and Sima,” he told Sky Sports.

“They haven’t really come in and got the game time. Michael Beale then goes for the tried and tested in Kemar Roofe, who is still probably Rangers’ best goalscorer.
