Michael Beale hunting for 'ideal' Rangers scenario but Stuart Kettlewell not sold on mounting Ibrox pressure noise

Stuart Kettlewell reckons Michael Beale's hunt for a Rangers utopia will take time after a major rebuild as he prepares to lock horns with the Londoner.

The Motherwell boss will hope to extend his outstanding Premiership record away from home when travelling to Ibrox on Sunday, with his men undefeated on the road under his guidance. Rangers come into the game off the back of a 1-0 win in the Europa League against Real Betis, and Kettlewell knows a tough opponent is lying in wait.

There has been major pressure heaped on Beale in recent weeks after a 1-0 defeat to Celtic and heavy Champions League exit at the hands of PSV, leading to some discussion over his future. That has cooled over the last week after a good start following the international break, but the Fir Park manager isn't too convinced by the noise, as Kettlewell is aware a revamp like Rangers' big recruitment drive can bring teething issues.

He said: "I listen to a lot of media reports, interviews, you hear the general noise that surrounds Scottish football. The two biggest talking points are always Celtic and Rangers.

"The fact Rangers lose a couple of games, everybody starts shouting as loud as they can. I have never bought into it too much, I think they have a very good manager and a lot of real good resource to bring in the amount of players they have done.

"With that, there is always a settling in period. I think your ideal scenario and Rangers don't me to tell them this, there's an ideal scenario that everything clicks, every one of the new players hits the ground running and the manager knows his best XI and how that works.
