Rangers squad revealed as Barisic and Yilmaz headache leaves Philippe Clement with 3 left-back wildcards to play

He's only on his second game as Rangers boss but Philippe Clement already has a major headache as prepares for the crucial Europa League showdown with Sparta Prague.

The group is finely poised with Aris Limassol, Real Betis and Sparta all sitting on three points and holding ambitions of making the knockout stage - but the Belgian boss faces a problem having jetted out to the Czech Republic without a recognised left-back. First-choice Borna Barisic injured his thigh during Clement’s debut win over Hibs - and was replaced in the 4-0 win by Ridvan Yilmaz.

And while that could have presented a solution, Clement’s predecessor Michael Beale opted to leave regular back-up Yilmaz out of his UEFA squad. Versatile Dujon Sterling is also sidelined after failing to make the Scottish Premiership squad for the victory over Nick Montgomery's men in Govan.

Clement will now have to use one of his the Rangers stars out of position against the Czech champions. Ben Davies could move from the left-side of a centre-back pairing to left-back, while youngster Adam Devine could be drafted in at full-back.

John Lundstram could also be asked to cover the defensive role against Brian Priske's men. Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell and Zak Lovelace remain on the sidelines, while Jose Cifuentes could return from the knock he picked up on international duty.
