The Greater Manchester garden packed with activities for kids this Easter

The Easter holidays are well underway and it can be a challenge for parents to keep kids occupied. Luckily there’s no shortage of things to do in Greater Manchester during the break, from outdoor adventure playgrounds to fascinating museums.

On the days when the weather is brighter, it’s good to get the kids away from their screens and out the house. This Easter RHS Garden Bridgewater is hosting a range of events so little ones can get connected with nature.

Throughout the holidays until April 14 it's running a giant Easter egg trail through the garden. Participants can look out for the giant eggs, each one hand painted by artists Cath Ford and Alastair Price, based on ideas created by local school children and community groups. Those who successfully find all of the hidden eggs are rewarded with a free chocolatey treat from NOMO - The UK’s No. 1 Vegan & ‘Free From’ chocolate brand.

As well as the Easter egg trail there’s an array of activities taking place. On April 11 and 12 there are Easter craft sessions from 12.30pm to 3pm at the Events Marquee. On April 9 and 10 kids are invited to learn about plants that make natural bird feeders and how to grown their own at home.

For little kids there’s the Easter garden adventure on April 5, where they can explore the garden and learn about what’s growing there. There are 45-minute sessions running throughout the day. On April 13 and 14 Colour the Clouds is hosting sensory storytelling sessions. Each one is 30 minutes long, with four performances each day.

RHS Garden Bridgewater is open from 10am - 6pm from March 23 until October (during winter it closes at 4pm). You need to pre-book
