The Celtic dressing room view on Adam Idah, wild Haaland message and Mourinho links as mega deal agreed

There's good reason why Celtic have loosened the purse strings to get Adam Idah's permanent transfer over the line.

A deal has reportedly been struck with Norwich City which will see Idah cost an initial £8.5million, potentially rising to £9.5m with add-ons. Given the bidding process is believed to have started at less than half that figure, some fans have baulked at the price.

The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international striker played a huge role in helping the Hoops to a domestic double last season, including the Scottish Cup final winner against Rangers at Hampden. But aside from his record of nine goals in 19 appearances - of which only seven were starts - on loan last season, there's plenty that has convinced the Parkhead hierarchy to splash out what could be a club-record fee. Despite only joining in the winter window, the Ireland international, 23, became an instant hit with the Celtic squad. The love for him in the dressing room has been very apparent, with Liam Scales explaining why they wanted him to return in July.

The defender admitted: “We’d love to have Adam back. He is a great lad and he is obviously a brilliant player, but to have him in the changing room as well is fantastic. He is a good guy, he’s funny.
